The Church Clock

The clock was installed in 1884. As the small brass plate reminds us, it is a memorial to Marie Nesta Williams Wynn. The Vestry minutes show how important the previous clock was:

‘That Mr Thomas Rogers the Parish Clerk be appointed to wind the clock at a salary of three pounds per annum – and that he be directed to set the clock by the proper railway time on Friday evening in each week under penalty of half -a-crown fine to be deducted from his salary’.
